HOLI HISTORY, REASON OF CELEBRATION OF HOLI

There is a mythological story of the celebration of Holi. Holi is celebrated in India since ancient times. Mainly Holi is considered to be a spring welcoming festival. People as well as mother nature both enjoy themselves with the colors and vibrancy of spring.
There are many types of stories about why we celebrate Holi. One of them tells the story that an evil king named Hiranyakashyap forbade his son Prahlada to worship Lord Vishnu, but Prahlada continued to offer prayers to him.
This enraged Hiranyakashyap and prompted Prahlada to sit on the pyre with his wicked aunt Holika, who was immune to Agni. Prahlada agreed to this and prayed to Lord Vishnu to keep him safe.
What happened when he sat with his aunt on fire, Holika was burnt to ashes and Prahlad survived. That's why Holika Dahan is done.
It is also said that the red color is also known as the gulal used during the festival, which comes from the story of Lord Krishna, who had completed the dark blue color and felt insecure that his love Radha will reject them.
To make Radha look like herself, she took off Gulal to hide her skin color. Due to this Holi is also celebrated as a festival of love.
Another story related to Holi is on Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is known for his calm and meditative nature.
One day Madan, the goddess of love, decides to test Shiva's concentration power and is revealed to be a beautiful nymph. As a result, Shiva recognized Madan and was very angry.
In anger, Lord Shiva opens his third eye and burns Mandana to ashes. Thus the ashes of Mandana are taken as the basis of the bonfire of Holi.
